Is the summer sun bakin’ you crazy? In this hands-on workshop, tweens will learn how to harness solar energy to make a sticky snack. Using readily available materials and guided by Louisiana State Energy Office facilitators, construct your solar oven and engage in discussions about solar power, clean energy, and environmental stewardship. Let's cook up some solar s'mores and shine a light on a brighter, greener future together!

Our Gonzales location was built in 1980 under the direction of Earline Decoteau, Director and serves as our Main Library location. It was expanded & renovated in 1996, 1998, and 2011, under the direction of Angelle Deshautelles, Director.
