Library Card
Any teacher, school employee, or student who works or attends school in Ascension Parish is eligible for a library card, which provides access to the library's print and electronic resources. Find out how you can get a full-access library card.
In addition, Ascension Parish Library and Ascension Public Schools have partnered to provide all students and teachers with eCards based on their school-issued ID numbers through its new Education eCards program. These Student and Teacher eCards will automatically provide 24/7, year-round access to ALL of the digital resources Ascension Parish Library has to offer. No registration required. School Outreach & Services
Events: The library can visit your school to promote library services, reading, and education at your next student event. We are available to talk to parents and students about library services offered, materials available, and computer access and online resources. When appearing at a school event, the library will accept library card applications from participants and mail them a library card within 2-3 weeks after the event. Presentations: The library offers a variety of classroom presentations and booktalks to encourage students to read and to enhance their research skills.
Presentations can include

- Early Literacy and Brain Research
- Early Math and Science Literacy in the Preschool and Early Elementary Classroom

Deposit Collections at your School Library
If your class has a large in-class project, have your school librarian, assistant principal, or principal contact the Outreach Services Librarian. Your school may be eligible to check out a small collection of resources to meet the needs of your in-class project.
