Ascension Parish Library’s makerspace in Donaldsonville is a hands-on, collaborative space where cardholders can innovate and learn with cutting-edge tools. This is where people connect and create by developing skills that can lead to a new hobby or career path.
Whether it's technology or crafting, a lot is waiting for you to discover!
To use equipment in the makerspaces, users must have an Ascension Parish Library card* and take a training class to learn how to safely operate the machines and the procedures for checking in and out of the space and cleaning up. After taking a class, schedule a time to pass a task-based activity to earn a completion badge, allowing the cardholder to reserve equipment or software to use independently.
All classes are an hour, except for the Cricut and Heatpress class, which is 1.5 hours. Register online or call the appropriate library location to attend one or all of the training classes.
*Cardholders aged 12 to 14 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when using the makerspace. Those 15 and older may use the space on their own.
