It's going to be a summer of inspiration and adventure as we learn about conservationand becoming stewards or our planet. This year's summer reading theme is Read, Renew, Repeat, and we've planned events all summer long that will let us explore the natural world, learn how to conserve resources, and allow each of us to reflect on our own journey. Conservation means taking care of our planet and using its natural resources wisely, making sure there is enough for everyone—including animals and plants! You won't want to miss out on this time of discovery, exploration, and learning. Best of all, our summer reading program is for readers of all ages!

Receive rewards and prizes by signing up for our Beanstack Summer Reading Challenge beginning Thursday, May 23. You can read or listen to books, audiobooks, or magazines and track your reading at myAPL.beanstack.org or by using the Beanstack app. Earn incentives for signing up and reading throughout the summer. You can also earn chances to win one of our Grand Prize drawings at the end of the summer. The last day to log your summer reading is Wednesday, July 31. Prizes provided by a generous donation from Friends of the Ascension Public Library.
Read to Me kids (ages birth–5 years) earn prizes based on the number of books that are read to them. Kids (ages 6–11 years) earn prizes based on the number of books, magazines, or audiobooks that they read or listen to.
After registering, visit any Ascension Parish Library location to receive a pencil, magnet, and bookmark.
After logging 20 books for Read to Me or 5 books for kids ages 6–11, visit any Ascension Parish Library location to receive a certificate, tote bag, one pick from our prize bin, one free bowling pass to Premier Lanes, one Raising Cane's free Kids Combo bookmark, and one Chick-fil-A gift card that can be redeemed for one of three dessert items. You will also earn one chance in our Grand Prize drawing for Read to Me or kids.
For each additional 20 books logged for Read to Me or 5 books logged for kids ages 6–11, you will receive one additional chance in our Grand Prize drawing.*
